HIRING MANAGER QUESTIONS
Q. What makes Syzzygy different from other recruiting firms?
A. Syzzygy’s methodology is distinctly different from the typical hiring process that companies go through. Rather than posting a job and having students apply, we offer you a complete database of student information, allowing you to choose which students to contact. This allows you full control over who applies for your position, ensuring a larger, more diverse pool from which to pick the perfect candidate.
Q. What industries/types of companies do you work with?
A. We work with companies big and small, ranging from startups to well-established companies.
Q. What types of job functions do you recruit for?
A. We recruit specifically for entry level positions requiring the problem solving abilities and skills that we know students from top tier universities possess.
Q. What types of placement services do you provide?
A. We don’t provide placement services, because our approach is different. Syzzygy allows companies to search our entire database of students and sort by GPA, awards, and a variety of other factors to best narrow your search to the perfect candidate.
Q. My company’s needs are very specific. Can you help me?
A. Of course! Syzzygy is dedicated to helping companies find the right employee the first time, so we can build a long-term cooperative effort that will serve as the grounds for a rewarding partnership.
Q. Where are you located?
A. Syzzygy does not have an established office, but we live in the tri-state area, and are within an hour of Philadelphia and New York City.
Q. Do you work locally or nationally?
A. Because of Syzzygy’s location in the tri-state area, our current student base during the initial beta phase will be limited to the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University. However, many of these students do not always wish to stay in the area upon graduation or during the summer for internships, and so companies from across the country are welcome to use our service.
Q. Are your searches confidential?
A. Yes. Syzzygy prides itself on itself on its ethics and honesty. Client confidentiality is a top priority of ours.
Q. What is the typical fee for your services?
A. We charge only the hiring company a fixed percentage rate based on the salary for the position. Internships and full-time positions are charged differently, so please contact us so we can discuss your needs. The service for students is complimentary.

Q. How can I post a job opening on your site?
A. Syzzygy is not like companies like Monster or various Career Services in college. What we offer is for students to post their résumé’s and for companies to find the students they are looking to hire.

A. We work with companies big and small, ranging from startups to well-established companies. You have the power to choose what industries you would be interested in working in and whether you want to respond to inquiries by companies for information sessions and interviews.
Q. What types of job functions do you recruit for?

Q. Will there be protection against aggressive hiring practices?
A. We believe all students should be allowed a reasonable amount of time to consider job offers before having to make a decision. As a result, we require companies that use our service to give students at least a week to make a decision.
A. We charge only the hiring company a fixed percentage rate based on the salary for the position. As a student, the service is offered free of charge.
